Kathe Kruse Waldorf Baby Maja Doll

Baby Maja is another gorgeous little Waldorf baby doll by Kathe Kruse. Waldorf dolls are made from natural materials with the belief that a simple, friendly looking doll made from natural things will be cosy and stimulating for a child.

Waldorf Baby Maja is made from flesh tone cotton stockinette filled with sheeps wool with some quartz sand in her bottom to add some weight. The process of stuffing is very skilled as it is the filling that gives the doll the shape of it's body and face. Maja has blue embroidered eyes and a red smiling mouth. She has a smattering of painted freckles and her cheeks are slightly blushing. Her blonde hair is made from boucle wool which is securely stitched in place over her head with two little bunches tied with red ribbon. What you can't see in the picture is this doll's cute little bottom (am I allowed to talk about this?) It has been stitched and stuffed to make it lifelike with slightly pink cheeks. Plus she has a belly button. So adorable!

Waldorf Baby Maja is wearing a red lycra tunic with an octopus appliqued on the front in pale blue. Four legs dangle down with knots on the end which little owners are bound to love sucking. Her trousers and her hat are made from a textured white woven fabric with a sealife design printed on in navy blue and red. Her trousers are trimmed with red ric rac braid and her hat is lined with red cotton with tiny white polka dots.

Attached to Waldorf Baby Maja's hand is her own toy octopus, made from pale blue cotton jersey and again filled with wool.

This doll can hand washed in luke warm water using woolite. It is best to tie up any hair to prevent tangling. Air dry the doll in a warm place with the hair in the desired style. The dolls clothes can also be handwashed. They should be dried flat and not tumble dried, smoothing out creases whilst damp. A cool iron can be used if required.
