Consuelo is one of the girls from Hearts for Hearts, a popular range of dolls from the US just received by Petalina, the first retailer to be able to distribute these gorgeous dolls outside of the US.

Consuelo is from Mexico, is 36cm tall with an all vinyl body that has a medium skin tone. Her eyes are large and brown with dark eyelashes painted on the upper and lower eyelids. Her cheeks are pink and healthy and her mouth is full and natural. Her hair is dark brown with a side parting and it is incredibly long. Although I haven't fully removed her from her box you can feel how soft her hair is.

Consuelo is wearing a lime green jersey top with a beautiful printed collar and white and pink trim around the arms. Her skirt is made from turquoise blue cotton with satin ribbon, tucks and lace for decoration, and her as underwear she has simple white knickers. Her shoes differ from the photograph and are made from moulded plastic in pink, and are little ballet shoes with a bow on the front of each and satin ribbons around the ankles. Consuelo is also wearing a pair of hoop earrings with litle beads on in bright colours and she has three matching bangles on one wrist. In her hair she wears a pink satin ribbon decorated with a bow. She does NOT come with the necklace, but she does come with a blue comb and a girl sized black bracelet with little hearts, one in turquoise that says GIRLS and the other in black saying 'Changing the World one Heart at a time'.

Each of the Hearts for Hearts dolls arrives in a box with a large picture of the doll's face on the front of a flap which opens up to show the doll inside. The box is covered with information about the dolls and the charity World Vision that receives $1 for every doll purchased. Each of the girls also arrives with a book which gives more information about the particular character.

Consuelo lives in Mexico and lives with her parents and older sister Gabriella in an apartment over the bakery they run as a family. The book talks about the types of things they traditionally bake, including gingerbread pigs, and how her grandmother passed down many of the recipes to her parents. It breaks Consuelo's heart to see hungry children gathering outside their shop, attracted by the delicious smells and beautiful food on display, and she had an idea. Every day instead of throwing away any baked goods they would give them to the children. They would leave water for them to wash in before eating and milk for the children to drink. Some of the children helped sweep the courtyard as a way of thanking Consuelo and her family. A wonderful story about helping others to encourage girls of today to make a small difference themselves, one heart at a time.

Amazing so cute was brought as a gift decided to keep it, big kid that I am. Too nice to share

The body of this doll can be cleaned using a damp cloth with a little mild detergent if required. The body should not be immersed in water as this will rot the elastic holding the limbs onto the body.

The hair can be carefully washed using a mild shampoo taking care not to create tangles.

The dolls clothes can be hand washed using a mild detergent in warm water. Do not tumble dry but dry flat, smoothing out creases whilst damp. Iron using a cool iron if needed.
